Melanie is the creative mind behind TerrierGroup. Her work appearing in the magazine has won the 2017 and 2019
Best Single Illustration for the Dog Writers of America Association Awards. She has been a fine artist, graphic designer and illustrator for many years freelancing as MAC Graphic Design. Her fine art has
been accepted in juried art competitions such as the Art Show at the Dog Show
and many of her animal portraits hang
on walls throughout the country.
Terriers and Saddlebred horses have always been a part of her life. However,
it was not until the late 90s she traded riding boots for a show lead. Today, Melanie breeds and shows Kerry Blue Terriers under the Turbo banner. She is former president of the United States Kerry Blue Terrier Club and active with the Kerry Blue Terrier Club of Chicago.
Muriel Lee feels like she has been around dogs forever. She grew up with a Wire Fox Terrier and after marrying she purchased an Old English Sheepdog. Eventually she settled upon the Scottish Terriers and finished many champions of her own and for John Sheehan of Firebrand kennels.
For the last twenty years or so there were French Bulldogs in the household. Muriel has written numerous breed-specific books for two publishing houses, many on the terrier breeds, and has edited the quarterly magazines Just Terriers and Just Frenchies. In 1984 she wrote The Whelping and Rearing of Puppies which remained a very popular book for the twenty-five years it was in print and is still favored by breeders. She is an AKC judge of Scottish Terriers and is an honorary member of the Minneapolis Kennel Club and of the Scottish Terrier Club of America, as well as belonging to the French Bulldog Club of America.
Reita is the advertising sales part of TerrierGroup. She worked for a number
of years in sales for JustTerriers. She
has served as Vice President and as a board member for the United States
Kerry Blue Terrier Club, as well as President, Executive Officer, and
Recording Secretary for the Kerry Blue Terrier Club of Chicago, Inc. Along with
her husband Craig, they have been raising, training and showing Kerry Blue Terriers under the Kerrisel prefix since 1991. She has finished numerous Kerry Blue Terriers showing as an owner/breeder/handler. She has started many people into the wonderful life of terriers. Please contact her for your advertising. reita@terriergroup.org
